Bio








​Instruments
  • Born and raised in Kalamazoo MI.
  • Started playing in cover bands in 4th grade, church groups at age 16, and bar bands at age 17.
  • Spent 2 years after college playing club gigs in the Midwest.
  • Moved to Los Angeles to study at Musicians Institute.
  • Graduated from MI and played hundreds of gigs and sessions in LA.
  • Moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to get into electronic music development.
  • Earned a master’s degree in Improvised Music Studies (World Music) from San Jose State University.
  • Hired as a tenured Music Professor (Commercial Music) at Ohlone College. (Retired after 25 years.)
  • Balances work in academia with a complementary live playing schedule around the Bay Area in many pit/stage orchestra settings.
