Boots on My Mind

This song is about a guy who is girl watching on the beach
when he sees a beautiful woman. Like many guys, he watches
helplessly while she walks on by. Their gaze meets only in
passing. He does nothing to approach her, but instead of
recognizing his own inactivity, blames her for not approaching
him.

Verse 1:
You were trollin' in the sun,
lookin' for Mr. Right to come along.
Flashin' that lighthouse beacon smile.
I was in love! It was your style.

Prechorus 1:
You got my attention, marchin' by,
But all I heard was those ...

Chorus:
(Boots) I love (Boots) you.
(Baby got boots!) I need you.
(Switchin') The way you move.
(Switchin') The way you groove.
(Jumpin') I feel (Jumpin') the vibe.
(All over the back of my skull!) I'm goin' out of my mind.

Chorus 1 only:
(Italian leather) I love you.

Verse 2:
Summer blouse and skirt,
electric shades and French chapeau.
Boots and leather, all of that.
No tan lines anywhere.

Prechorus 2:
You were a fashion statement on the fly.
But all I could see was those ...

Chorus 2:
Same as chorus 1.

Bridge:
You coulda'
You coulda' said something.
You coulda'
You coulda' stopped.
You coulda' stopped awhile.
You coulda' unhooked me.
But you walked on by.

Chorus3:
Same as chorus 1.
